A Letter to Andy Cohen

Dear Andy Cohen,

Fans of the Housewives franchises have a bone to pick with you about Bravotv.com.  I know that little attention is paid to the comments and approving them is clearly a negligent process over at 30 Rock.  We fans deserve better!   Without fans, your shows wouldn’t be on the air and we feel that we are taken for granted.

If a fan takes the time to read a housewives blog, sign into your site and leave a comment, doesn’t that fan have the right to see their comment posted on the blog?  Who are these people that choose what to post and what to throw away into cyberspace?  I’d sure like to have a word with them.

It’s clear to me that some of your comment nazi’s have decided which housewife they like, and which they hate.  Is this an attempt to manipulate fans into liking the housewife that you want to promote as the good housewife?  Then there are days when the comments show positive toward a housewife that were all negative the day before.  Is this because a different intern is manning the site?  Why is this process so subjective?  Why not post them all?

Let’s talk about not only how biased the comments can be at times, but it is not funny at all when the comments all contain misspellings and improper grammar.  I have seen lists and lists of comments on blogs that every single comment has either blatant misspellings or horrible grammar.  Is this funny to you people?  Is this supposed to be a joke?  It appears as though you’re trying to make a complete fool of your own fans!
What about Teresa Giudice being allowed to post a blog that contains a “secret” message to fans, a message that reads FuckHaters?  This is acceptable to Bravo?  This foul mouthed, disgusting excuse for a human being with four young children is allowed to treat viewers this way?

It is time you started to pay some attention to your web site, it is your connection to the public, the fans of Bravo and fans of the shows on Bravo, why is it so unprofessional?  Why do you allow people who don’t give a damn to monitor the comments?  Why are there hundreds of thousands of comments that never get posted?

Some examples of comments that you DID allow to be posted:

From Ashley’s blog:

“I know and I would have don what you did because you are suppose to do what you did and she should let up off of you.”

“ashley why wont you stop doing little kids mistakes and consentrate on school or other activities your mom is just trying to look out for you. and doesent want for anything to happen to you. learn from this stupid mistake you did and try not to do it agin. never know what could happen the next time you do something like that.”

And messages for Teresa:

"Theresa, no one is jealous of Jersey girl, we enjoy watching you, but everybody has their own very special state people. We love your hooker/stripper/table throwing Italian attitude. I am pure german what you did to Danielle is nothing compared to what a german would of done. Don't let no one tell you that you're too abrasive, because speaking your mind is a good thing in this world. I've been told I have no tact, I would of never of let someone like that in my home. Keep up the good work there girl!! You're children are beautiful by the way. Please don't take what I say as a downer, you just have more patience with trash than I do!”

“U are one amazing mother, and they are ALL BEAUTIFUL lil ladies!! CONGRADS on the edition!!”

"teresa ur an amazing prsn and i luv ur posotive energyy. ur great with kids and a total fashionista. thts y other ppl r so jelous of jersey gyrlss!! i love love love u! ur bellaaa!!!! i give botchy 2 u and ur family”

Now I’m not knocking these fine people who post comments on the sites, if this is what they want to say to the Housewives, go for it.  These are just a very few examples of comments that make it through your stringent, selective process.  Why Andy Cohen, can’t you also post the comments from those of us who spell properly, aren’t typing as if we’re texting, and use proper grammar?  That’s all I’m asking!  We want to be heard too!

At times your people also choose some really inappropriate posts, Bethenny received a few about her baby, about her father and about her weight loss that were really below the belt, your professional comment posers decided to let those through, then later deleted them.  Get it together over there!

Please pay a little more attention to the crack heads who comment and the crack heads who approve and post these comments.  Allow good and bad comments to be shown, and for goodness sake, get the inappropriate ones off the board!

And while I have your attention, if you wouldn’t mind dumping Teresa Giudice from your Housewives line up, I would be forever grateful.  After all, if Bravo is like most of American companies, you should have a zero tolerance policy for physical violence.  Her screaming in Danielle’s face and shoving you down into your chair was completely unacceptable and inappropriate for anyone, let alone a mother of four little girls.  Naomi Campbell notwithstanding, Teresa is no role model, but then again, neither is Naomi Campbell!

Sincerely,
LynnNChicago

For those of you interested in the understated, sophisticated style of Caroline Manzo, she now has an advice column.  If you’re interested in how to downplay your mob connections, raise your children to play the ham game or just pretend like you’re the all-knowing, all powerful matriarch of your family, I suggest you go to Caroline’s site for her wise advice.  Go to CarolineManzo.com, there you can join her fan page, read her advice column and learn how to be the Puppet master of your very own circle of friends.  Learn to control your in law’s, talk over and interrupt your foes to win every argument and dress like you’re 25 years old.

Last night I was having a little fun on Twitter and Teresa Giudice’s name came up…here’s what I Tweeted:

LynnNChicago:  @bravoandy Wondering if you have an employee handbook? Physical violence is okedoke with @bravotv huh?

Just moments later, I received a PRIVATE Direct Message from Mr. Andy Cohen himself, the rare tweet from the man himself (note: he rarely tweets to us regular folks):

BravoAndy To what physical violence are you referring?
As you probably know, you can’t respond in kind (privately) unless the other party is also following you on Twitter, but I gave it a shot and responded:

LynnNChicago:   Teresa shoving you down is physical violence, don’t you have a zero tolerance policy?

No luck, of course he wasn’t following me!  LOL  I did find it interesting that he didn’t seem to know what I was talking about, but don’t you think he probably really did?  Maybe he doesn’t consider that physical violence?

Until Next Time…..
